SightDx has developed unique vision-based algorithms for identifying blood related diseases. The Parasight device uses these algorithms in order to visually scan a stained blood sample under the device fluorescence microscope and analyze the captured images. The proprietary software identifies the visual differences between blood components and blood anomalies while relying on characteristics such as size, shape, fluorescence intensity, and morphology. For the malaria application, the Parasight device, when used with the malaria staining reagents, relies on principles of operation that were designed to mimic common practice (microscopy) in a rapid, accurate and consistent fashion.
